It is here!

Hello international impro friends!

Well, it has happened!
My book has arrived.
I can't begin to describe the feelings. Excitement, nervousness, joy and fear.
Fear?
Yes fear.
Fear of the unknown.
Writing a book is like an impro scene. It is a huge leap of faith into the unknown. Like an impro scene you commit, follow your impulse, be obvious, play from your truth and aim to inspire your partners.

It is natural to worry and think will it be a success or a failure?

Moments like these remind me of what impro has taught me and tests me to apply what I believe and teach.

Approaching a creative project, only focused on receiving accolades, puts ego in the drivers seat and creative authenticity in the trunk.

Ask and define for yourself what is success and failure?
Why do I create?
Who do I create for?
What is the point of my creative pursuits?
What do I aim to achieve?
What am I trying to communicate?

These goals, your personal goals, are the true measuring stick of the project. To judge oneself by the opinions of others is to abandon ones goals in pursuit of praise.

And yet, knowing all of this, I feel the fear.
Oh it is a wonder to be human.

So my friends the book is now available for preorder. It has taught me a lot in the process and I hope it will stimulate thoughts, ideas, discussions and explorations.

Hugs,
Patti
