I’ll be teaching a one day Status workshop for Impro Melbourne Feb. 29, 2020.

Status is a key component to developing character relationships and development of story. A necessary skill in the improvisors tool belt.

Status is an essential tool for every improviser.  On stage relationships look void of any really connection when status play is not present. Understanding status and how to play it gives the improviser the tools to build tension or create comedy.  Monty Python, Black Adder, Laurel & Hardy all use status play. Great actors like Meryl Streep, Heren Mirren, Dame Judy Dench, Anthony Hopkins, Robert DeNiro, Marlon Brandon all play status.
